This was construed on 11/13/2006 by Brent Pipal, this recipe was a modification my friend Tim Ball's IPA of Justice recipe. I will be brewing this on 12/9/2006 and presenting at the Arid Club in Boise Idaho on January 4th

Ingredients (All Grain10 gal)

  • 23.5 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1 lbs Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • .5 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • .5 lbs Belgian Aromatic

    Belgian Aromatic

    Imparts a big malt aroma. Use in brown ales, Belgian dubbels and tripels.

  • 2.25 oz Centennial - 10.0 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Centennial

    Aromatic but acceptable for bittering. Medium aroma with floral and citrus tones. Good in medium to dark ales.

  • 2 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 2.00 oz Centennial - 10.0 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

    Centennial

    Aromatic but acceptable for bittering. Medium aroma with floral and citrus tones. Good in medium to dark ales.

  • 1 oz Centennial - 10.0 AA% whole; added dry to secondary fermenter

  • White Labs WLP051 California Ale V

    White Labs WLP051 California Ale V

    From Northern California. This strain is more fruity than WLP001, and slightly more flocculant. Attenuation is lower, resulting in a fuller bodied beer than with WLP001.

Hoppy, full, and sweet

This was a very nice IPA. Not as hoppy as I originally thought it would be but extremely well balanced. This is one to watch yourself with, you could end up drinking more than you intended
