  • 1 oz Brewers Gold - 9.0 AA% whole; boiled 30 min

    Brewers Gold

    Cascade

  • White Labs WLP565 Belgian Saison I

Classic Saison yeast from Wallonia. It produces earthy, peppery, and spicy notes. Slightly sweet. With high gravity saisons, brewers may wish to dry the beer with an alternate yeast added after 75% fermentation.

Notes

similar premise to the anchor small beer, except instead of doing a second sparge on a regular batch, just do a mini mash (in a big stove-top pot, or a cooler) with these grains and wheat flakes, then boil with the hops also, since ale street news published their article saying dark beer in moderation is good for you, i figured it would be a good idea to make a low calorie, low abv, high hop/grain content brew for those of you who (like me) are fat and dieting, and want enjoy those two dark beers a day (and their health benefits) without going over your calorie limit.
