Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 0 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • .5 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .5 lbs Peat Smoked Malt

    Peat Smoked Malt

    Imparts a robust smokey flavor and aroma. Use in Scottish ales and Wee Heavies.

  • 7 lbs Dark Liquid; Alexanders

    Dark Liquid; Alexanders

    Colored using roasted malt to give a rich mocha flavor and aroma bringing individuality to mild, porter, and stout brews.

  • 6 lbs Liquid Amber Extract

    Liquid Amber Extract

    Amber is used predominantly in the production of medium-colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters.

    White Labs WLP028 Edinburgh Scottish Ale

    Scotland is famous for its malty, strong ales. This yeast can reproduce complex, flavorful Scottish style ales. This yeast can be an everyday strain, similar to WLP001. Hop character is not muted with this strain, as it is with WLP002.

Notes

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder 1/4 teaspoon Ginger powder 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 10 whole cloves Orange Zest from 2 oranges a couple of dashes of ground Allspice add last 15 minutes of boil.
