  • 1.25 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • 7 lbs Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Reportedly lightest colored malt extract available.

  • 0.25 lbs Malto Dextrin

    Malto Dextrin

    Adds body and mouthfeel. For all extract beers. Does not ferment.

  • .75 oz Centennial - 10.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Centennial

    Aromatic but acceptable for bittering. Medium aroma with floral and citrus tones. Good in medium to dark ales.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

I made this twice last year. I couldn't believe how good it was. My mouth is watering thinking about making it again. One of my beer buddies told me that it was better than any commercial beer he'd ever tried. I don't know if I'd go that far, but I must admit, I see where he was coming from! The IBU seems a bit low on the calculation, my utilization may have been higher. This beer is similar to Sierra Nev Pale but resembles Three floyds Alpha king a bit more closely, from what I recall. A hoppy, and oddly relaxing brew!
