  • .5 lbs Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • 3.5 lbs Light; John Bull

    Light; John Bull

Made from Lager malt, it will add body and character to any light brew. Light malt extract will impart rich flavor compounds, ensure an excellent fermentation, and improve the clarity.

  • 1 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • .75 oz Fuggle - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 55 min

    Fuggle

Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

  • .25 oz Fuggle - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Fuggle

Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

  • 1 tsp Irish Moss - (omitted from calculations)

    Irish Moss

  • White Labs WLP028 Edinburgh Scottish Ale

White Labs WLP028 Edinburgh Scottish Ale

Scotland is famous for its malty, strong ales. This yeast can reproduce complex, flavorful Scottish style ales. This yeast can be an everyday strain, similar to WLP001. Hop character is not muted with this strain, as it is with WLP002.

Notes

Brewed 5/7/02. I milled the grains in the Cuisinart blender to almost dust. Color extraction was very high! Has a nice roasted character going in to the primary. I'm hoping for a good complex summer brew without heaviness, or hoppiness.
