California Creatures

American Pale Ale • Extract • 19 L

Matt Tolley

A 'Little Creatures Pale Ale' knock-off. It's just the California Common extract-with-specialty recipe from 'Brewing the World's Great Beers', but fermented with an ale yeast instead of a lager yeast.

A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 1.5 kg Liquid Amber Extract

    Liquid Amber Extract

Amber is used predominantly in the production of medium-colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters.

  • 33 g Northern Brewer - 8.5 AA% pellets; boiled 53 min

    Northern Brewer

Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • 28 g Cascade - 6.5 AA% whole; boiled 8 min

    Cascade

Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • Wyeast 3766 Cider

    Wyeast 3766 Cider

Crisp dry fermenting yeast with big, fruity finish. Creates a nice balance for all types of apples, pears and other fruit or fermentables. Allows fruit character to dominate the profile.
