Notes

Torrefied Wheat Actually 10lbs of Potato. Boiled and mashed and added to the mash. Used two-step mash with a protein rest. The original gravity was very low considering that I used 10# of potatoes. They contributed very little sugars to the mash...very surprising. Thjere was absolutely no troubles with a stuck mash as it flowed easily wen sparging. No rice hulls are needed.

Good Beer - Unusual flavor

2011-04-02 12:12pm

Beer is crystal clear. Protein rest must have done its job. Beer is light and foral...not like flowers, but something else I cannot describe maybe sulfurish as a previous author described. Its not overpowering and adds nicely to the beer hop. This also could be partially the Willamette and Cascade being combined to the flavor. I will be trying a potato beer again.
