This is my first Biographical beer for my best friend who's family is from Scotland.

Ingredients (Extract5.04 gal)

  • 1.25 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • .65 lbs Red Wheat Malt; Briess

    Red Wheat Malt; Briess

    Creamy, Sweet, Malty, Wheat, Flour. Characteristics & Applications: • Imparts malty flavor not obtainable from raw wheat. • Use with rice hulls to improve lautering and help prevent stuck mash. • White Wheat Malt contributes to foam production and foam stability.

  • .5 lbs Peat Smoked Malt

    Peat Smoked Malt

    Imparts a robust smokey flavor and aroma. Use in Scottish ales and Wee Heavies.

  • 3.3 lbs Dry Amber Extract

    Dry Amber Extract

    Cream-colored and full-flavored; will produce amber colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters. Made of pale and crystal malts.

  • 0.50 lbs Honey

    Honey

    Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

  • 0.5 oz Challenger - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Challenger

    Popular bittering hop used primarily in British ales and lagers. Mild to moderate aroma, but quite spicy.

  • 1.0 oz Simcoe® - 13.0 AA% pellets; boiled 5 min

    Used for aromatic, and especially bittering properties.

  • 1 oz Heather Blossoms (dried) - (omitted from calculations)
