Magnum - 15.0 AA% whole; boiled 90 min

Bred in 1980 at Germany’s Hüll Hop Research Center, this high-alpha variety is renowned for its exceptionally large, heavy cones. Hallertauer Magnum delivers excellent yields and, like many Hüll-developed hops, boasts a strong resistance to disease.

Mild, slightly spicy. 'Noble'.

Hallertau
Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.

Wyeast 2206 Bavarian Lager
Used by many German breweries to produce rich, full-bodied, malty beers. Good choice for Bocks and Dopplebocks.
Notes
Brewed 3/14/10. Mash at 147 for 90 minutes. O.G. 1.046. 8ppm O2. Repitch from Dunkel, 450 ml thin, max non yeast per 5 gallon. Late hops stuck to sides of boil pot, and may not have made much presence. Fermentation started 36 hours. Kegged 4/5/10 at 1.009. Lagered at 32F. ADF 80%.

This turned out well. Bitterness ok but needs more hop flavor / nose. Could also be dryer, even though it finished quite low. Maybe add some simple sugars next time, or mash even lower.
