Notes

My first all-grain batch. I held mash at about 135 degrees for 40 minutes -- I was shooting for 125 -- in my brew pot. I also had too much strike water -- 4 gallons, I think!!. It took me almost 30 minutes to bring it up to 155 by heating it, transferring to my cooler/lauter tun -- a mess! It was only 142 by the time I transferred it all so I vorlaufed about a gallon of liquid out, brought it to a boil and put it back in. The the temp stabilized at 152. Kept for about 90 minutes. End result is very dark, like a double bock and the wort is VERY sweet. Am curious to taste final result.
