This is an all-grain adaptation of Charlie's GABF beer in the July Zymurgy. Without the Malt Extract or Santiam hops. Enjoy!

Ingredients (All Grain5.25 gal)

  • 9.5 lbs American 6-row Pale

    American 6-row Pale

    Tends to increase lautering efficiency due to a stiffer husk. May be used as the base malt for any beer style. The enzymes in all varieties of the current crop are sufficient to support high percentages of specialty malts and adjuncts.

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .5 lbs Belgian Aromatic

    Belgian Aromatic

    Imparts a big malt aroma. Use in brown ales, Belgian dubbels and tripels.

  • .75 oz Mt. Hood - 4.5 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Mt. Hood

    Used mainly for aroma and flavor in American and German style ales and lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant, light, and clean.

  • White Labs WLP840 American Lager

    White Labs WLP840 American Lager

    This yeast is used to produce American style lagers. Dry and clean with a very slight apple fruitiness. Sulfur and diacetyl production is minimal.
