A tasty pils. A bit bitter for me, but the neighbour prefers it to Stella.

  • 21 g Centennial - 13.6 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Centennial

Aromatic but acceptable for bittering. Medium aroma with floral and citrus tones. Good in medium to dark ales.

  • 14 g Hallertauer Mittelfrüher - 2.6 AA% whole; boiled 0 min

    Hallertauer Mittelfrüher

    Fine, 'Noble'.

  • 14 g Czech Saaz - 2.2 AA% whole; boiled 0 min

    Czech Saaz

    Very mild. 'Noble'.

  • Wyeast 2308 Munich Lager™

    Wyeast 2308 Munich Lager™

A unique strain, capable of producing fine lagers. Very smooth, well-rounded and full-bodied. Benefits from temperature rise for diacetyl rest.

Notes

1. I used Green Bullet Hops for bittering. 2. The final Saaz addition was actually 20 minutes post boil and left to steep for 20 minutes. 3. Note the low efficiency of my system if you are brewing this yourself. 4. Crash cooled using chiller & fermented in fridge at 9-10 degrees celsius. 5. Using BeerTools Pro 1.5 I get a an IBU of 39, which I think is closer to the mark.

Look, I'm just not a real pilsner fan. The beer is fine & seems well balanced. Everyone else liked it. It's just not me.
