My recipe

2009-06-30 10:53am

This is my recipe. I created it in an attempt to create a delicious English IPA, that relies mostly on crystal malts. I tasted when kegging and it is delicous! I worry that it is not hoppy enough, and could benefit from a bigger dry hop. I also noticed alcohol, which might mean it needs to be fermented cooler, although it was left in a 65F room, which holds steady.

Getting there

2009-08-03 10:32am

This is quite a good beer. Getting closer to my interpretation of an English IPA. Noticible bitterness and hop flavor / aroma, but still restrained. Needed aging about 2 weeks before the crystal malts married. Best enjoyed after it warms up a little, and becomes a little smoother and sweeter. Next time add some toasty malts to give it a little more complexity, or use proper British pale malt at 4L or so. This was made with 2L maris otter.
