Never tried a commercial Steam Beer but this is my version having read some info.

  • 4.6 kg Australian Traditional Ale

    Well modified, full flavour.

  • 0.250 kg Melanoidin Malt

  • 0.150 kg Weyermann CaraRed®; Weyermann

    Red Ale, Red Lager, Scottish Ale, Amber Wheat, Bock Beer, Brown Ale, Alt Beer

  • 0.150 kg Australian Wheat Malt

    Australian Wheat Malt

    Malted wheat for use in Wheat beers.

  • 0.050 kg Chocolate Wheat Malt

    Chocolate Wheat Malt

    Intensifies aroma; improves color. For dark ales, alt, dark wheat, stout and porter.

  • 15 g Amarillo® - 8.2 AA% pellets; boiled 90 min

    Amarillo®

    Grown in Washington. A newer multi-use hop with a nice citrus-flower bouquet and medium-high acid content suited for bittering. Used in American Ales and IPAs.

  • 50 g Northern Brewer - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • 25 g Northern Brewer - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 0 min

  • Wyeast 2112 California Lager™

Notes

Ferment at 16C using 3L starter No-chilled this beer after boiling to a more concentrate wort. Will now dilute to hit the OG I was aiming for.
