    All English Ales. Workhorse of British Brewing. Infusion Mash.

  • .5 lbs Midwest Wheat Malt

    Midwest Wheat Malt

    Light flavor and creamy head. For American weizenbier, weissbier and dunkelweiss.

  • .5 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L

    Crystal Malt 20°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 6.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • .5 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    East Kent Goldings

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • .5 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 2 min

Brewed 5/7/09. Mashed at 153F. O.G. 1.046, 90 sec Ox, repitch wyeast 1028, 125 ml. Into 2nd 5/21/09 at 1.011. Into keg 5/27 at 1.011.

This is a good beer, but a little too similar to a lightly bittered american pale ale. Next time lets add a little special roast, and reduce the amount of cascade, and sub fuggle for EKG. Also consider removing the last hop addition.

This beer, surprisling got 2nd place in the 2009 SODZ British Beer Fest Competion. It also got a 4th place in the 2009 Ohio State Fair.
