Discussion
Tastes good, a little sweet

At first I thought this batch was a failure, there was a little clove flavor that came through and that was bad for this style. After bottle conditioning it in the frig for 8 weeks, the clove disappeared and now it tastes great. It does have a little sweetness, but it turned out to be a good beer with the malty edge I wanted. The hops flavor and aroma are at the levels I wanted, just enough to taste and smell. Definitely would brew again.

You mentioned it tastes too sweet. What was the starting / finishing gravity?

I hit my targets. I think it did end up with a FG @ 1.009. The sweetness came from the dextrine malt. I probably would cut it back a tiny bit next time.
