Ingredients (All Grain10 gal)

  • 20 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 8 lbs Rye Malt

    Rye Malt

    Often used in German Ales and specialty beers

  • 1 lbs American Caramel 60°L

    American Caramel 60°L

    Mild caramel,nutty flavor, sweet. adds color

  • 1 oz Columbus - 15.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Columbus

    Used mainly for bittering with some flavor qualities as well. Aroma is pleasant.

  • 2 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 40 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 2 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

  • Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Used commercially for several classic American ales. This strain ferments dry, finishes soft, smooth and dean, and is very well balanced.

Notes

Split into 2 carboys. After kreusen falls, rack to secondary and dry hop with 1oz leaf hops each. Or keg with 1oz leaf hops per 5gal.
