Mock-Vienna
Vienna Lager • All Grain • 5.25 gal
A tasty experiment. Used WLP029 German Ale/Kölsch instead of a Lager yeast. My friends couldn't tell the difference. This was a big hit. Will definitely brew again.

Better than expected.

Had some friends over for a beer & BBQ get-together. Everyone really raved about the beer. I didn't tell them it was really an ale, and they all said it tasted like a good lager. Very smooth, well balanced and great Vienna malty flavor. Will definitely brew this one again.
All gone :(

Sad to say, it's all gone now. This really came out a nice, easy drinking beer. Not sure how close to style it was, since I've never actually had a Vienna Lager before. But this was pretty good. After a little more aging, the flavors really rounded out nice and the body seemed to enhance. Most definitely will brew this one again!
