Real nice beer with slight smokeyness and the right amount of crystal. Not really to style but a real nice party beer. Let ut age longer than usual too. Brew it for St Patties Day! Your friends will be glad you did! :)

Ingredients (All Grain6 gal)

  • 10.00 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 0.75 lbs American Caramel 40°L

    American Caramel 40°L

    Provides color, a unique flavor, body, and contributes to foam retention and beer stability.

  • 3.0 lbs English Amber Malt

    English Amber Malt

    Roasted malt used in British milds, old ales, brown ales, nut brown ales.

  • 0.15 lbs Peat Smoked Malt

    Peat Smoked Malt

    Imparts a robust smokey flavor and aroma. Use in Scottish ales and Wee Heavies.

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

Very nice Amber...

Just brewed this beer and it came out great! (drinkin one right now) :) Anyways, Mash at 153 for 60 minutes single step. I did a batch sparge on this one. Ferment with 1056 2 liter starter for 2 weeks then keg or bottle. Let it condition for at least 4 weeks before trying. (the longer the better) I kegged mine and at 6 weeks it is clear and very nice. And at 6% abv, be careful! LOL! Enjoy
