This is a pretty nice brown ale. One of the keys is using the california ale yeast for a clean finish.

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 9 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • .5 lbs American Caramel 60°L

    American Caramel 60°L

    Mild caramel,nutty flavor, sweet. adds color

  • .5 lbs Belgian Biscuit

    Belgian Biscuit

    Warm baked biscuit flavor and aroma. Increases body. Use in Belgian beers.

  • .5 lbs American Vienna

    American Vienna

    Increases malty flavor, provides balance. Use in Vienna, Märzen and Oktoberfest.

  • .8 oz Cascade - 6.9 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • .5 oz Cascade - 6.9 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

Clean finish, but a little too bitter

Next time I will add .8oz of Cascades. Very clean finish with a great nutty flavor.
