  • 16 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 2 lbs Crystal Malt 120°L

    Crystal Malt 120°L

    Pronounced caramel flavor and a red color. For stouts, porters and black beers.

  • 1 lbs Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • .5 lbs American Black Roast

    American Black Roast

    Adds a heavy roast flavor and dark color.

  • 2 lbs American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

We put this into kegs. The original recipie was brewed in April. For this brew I did add the oats. We called this Dark Cherry Stout but I did not record recipie. Dark cherry Stout was taken so we named this brew with this name. We added 4-5 tablespoons of cherry flavoring. I think it needs much more. Possibly 2 oz of liquid flavoring. It tasted great going into the kegs. 2 weeks of fermenting in 1st and second stages happened before we keged if I remember corectly. Next time we will ferment this brew ON cherries in the second fermenter.
