Ingredients (All Grain10 gal)

  • 12.5 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 2.0 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 3.0 lbs Honey

    Honey

Imparts sweet and dry taste. For honey and brown ales. Also: specialty ales.

  • 2.0 oz Perle - 8.2 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Perle

Used mainly for its minty bittering and good green hop aromas in all non-pilsener lagersand wheats. Aroma is pleasant and slightly spicy

  • 1.0 oz Sterling - 7.5 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Sterling

Perceived to be similar to a Saaz and Mt. Hood combination. Finding favor as a Saaz replacement.

  • Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

    Wyeast 1056 American Ale™

Used commercially for several classic American ales. This strain ferments dry, finishes soft, smooth and dean, and is very well balanced.

Not what I want

So far ths beer is a little "thin." I was looking for more of a "carmel" taste. I will be changing this recipie to achieve the flavor I would prefer. The beer has been put into kegs. Waiting to enjoy.
