Ingredients (All Grain, 5.5 gal)
- 2 lbs
American 6-row Pale
American 6-row Pale
Tends to increase lautering efficiency due to a stiffer husk. May be used as the base malt for any beer style. The enzymes in all varieties of the current crop are sufficient to support high percentages of specialty malts and adjuncts.
- 3 lbs
American 2-row
American 2-row
Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt
- 0.44 lbs
Munich Malt
Munich Malt
Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles
- 0.19 lbs
Belgian Cara-Pils
Belgian Cara-Pils

Wyeast 2035 American Lager™
Wyeast 2035 American Lager™
Bold, complex and aromatic, good depth of flavor characteristics for a variety of lager beers.
Notes
I made this lager as an Ale with Danstar's Nottingham yeast It is a bit hoppy in flavor but it is really good for a light Ale

BEST BEER...
2008-08-02 9:17pm
of the 32 Beers I have brewed this one has been my most enjoyed Beer...at first I felt that it would be too light of a malt flavor...also I used so few hops in this Beer but the flavors just pop out! I highly recommend this recipe!
is this the one?

i am very interested in this recipe. I am having a party of about 200 people soon, and would like to try to make 50 gallons of this. I have never tried anything of this scale before, but am willing to give it a shoot. any ideas?

I have never made a beer with that volume and would assume the evaporation rate would increase...will you do multiple batches? just use beer tools like I just did and scale the recipe to your specifications...also...I did use safale US 05 for the yeast...so it is actually not a lager...it is a wonderful ale...if you are wanting a lager then you won't be drinking this batch for a while. if you have more questions please ask. I have no Idea what kind of brew setup that you have and also the batch size you are capable of. most people are only set for 5-20 gallons at a time...
