  • 8 lbs Maris Otter Pale

    An English thoroughbred and a favored choice of malt for many brewers. Simpsons' Maris Otter has a rich and nutty flavor and despite its small, berry size has a strong husk. This malt delivers predictable brewhouse performance with modest, yet consistent extracts. Brewers can expect good runoffs with clear wort.

  • 0.5 lbs American Caramel 60°L

    American Caramel 60°L

    Mild caramel,nutty flavor, sweet. adds color

  • 1 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils

    Belgian Cara-Pils

    Significantly increases foam/head retention and body of the beer.

  • 0.5 lbs Honey Malt

    Honey Malt

    Nutty honey flavor. For brown ales, Belgian wheats, bocks and many other styles.

  • 0.50 lbs Munich Malt

Notes

160 degree water added to grain in 5 gal mash tun resulted in 152 degree mash temp. Mashed 60 min, sparged with 2 gallons of 170 degree water repeated with another 2 gallons

Great tasting amber

I kegged this yesterday and I have to say that I was quite pleased with it. It has a nice dank (cascade) hop aroma and bitterness that balances out the malt character. The head retention is great with a nice soft foamy white head. I will definitely brew this one again.
