Maris Otter Pale
Maris Otter Pale
An English thoroughbred and a favored choice of malt for many brewers. Simpsons' Maris Otter has a rich and nutty flavor and despite its small, berry size has a strong husk. Wyeast 1272 American Ale II™
Wyeast 1272 American Ale II™
Fruitier and more flocculant than 1056, slightly nutty, soft, clean, slightly tart finish.
Notes
I had to sparge a lot of wort and boil down for 4 hours to get the volume down before I started the 60 hop boil. The long boil is essential for the rich caramel flavor.
