If I do say so myself, this is an amazing beer. This beer placed 2nd in the American Ale catagory in the annual Reggale and Dredhop competion in Denver.

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 10 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • .25 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils

    Belgian Cara-Pils

    Significantly increases foam/head retention and body of the beer.

  • 1 lbs Belgian Caramunich

    Belgian Caramunich

    Caramel, full flavor, copper color. For Belgian ales, German smoked and bocks.

  • 1 oz Chinook - 12.8 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Spicy, Medium to Heavy.Very strong bittering ability used in all American ales and lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • .5 oz Cascade - 6.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • .5 oz East Kent Goldings - 4.2 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

Used 75L crystal instead of 80L. Single temp mash at 150 for 60 min. Sparge with 178 waterfor 60 min. Dry Hops .5 oz of Cascade and US Kent Goldings in secondary after 8 days in primary. Primary:8 days Secondary: 25 days Bottled with 3/4 cup corn sugar
