Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L

    Crystal Malt 20°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .5 lbs Belgian Pale

    Belgian Pale

    Fully modified and is easily converted.

  • 6 lbs Dry Amber Extract

    Dry Amber Extract

    Cream-colored and full-flavored; will produce amber colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters. Made of pale and crystal malts.

  • 2 oz Northern Brewer - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 45 min

    Northern Brewer

    Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • 1 oz Willamette - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Willamette

    This hop is used for finishing and dry hopping American and British style ales. Aroma is mild and pleasant ans slightly spicy

  • 1 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    East Kent Goldings

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 1 oz Northern Brewer - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Wyeast 1272 American Ale II™

    Fruitier and more flocculant than 1056, slightly nutty, soft, clean, slightly tart finish.

Notes

Toast pale malt for 10 minutes at 350 deg. Add the 1oz. Kent Goldings to Secondary Fermenter about 3 days brior to bottling. Add the 1oz. Northern Brewer about 1 day prior to bottling.
