Extra Special/Strong Bitter (English Pale Ale) • All Grain • 19 L

Ricardo Rosa

Just finished brewing (oct 16). It was supposed to be a Premium Bitter, but my efficiency is chaotic and this time gave me a higher-than-expect OG, so it became a 100% ESB.

  • White Labs WLP004 Irish Stout

    White Labs WLP004 Irish Stout

This is the yeast from one of the oldest stout producing breweries in the world. It produces a slight hint of diacetyl, balanced by a light frui|iness and slight dry crispness. Great for Irish ales, stouts, porters, browns, reds and a very interesting pal

It turned out good. Very fruity. Slightly sweet, unfortunately. The bitterness was on the low side of the scale and I used hop bags, which probably decreased the IBU yield. But the hop aroma and flavor were nice. It got second place in our local contest, among 11 pale ales.
