Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 10 lbs Belgian Pale

    Belgian Pale

    Fully modified and is easily converted.

  • 2 lbs Corn Sugar

    Corn Sugar

    Use in priming beer or in extract recipes where flaked maize would be used in a mash.

  • 1 oz Challenger - 9.3 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Challenger

    Popular bittering hop used primarily in British ales and lagers. Mild to moderate aroma, but quite spicy.

  • 1 oz Target - 8.8 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    Target

    Used for its robust bittering ability in British ales and lagers. Aroma is quite intense.

  • 1 oz Fuggle - 3.9 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Fuggle

    Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

  • .5 tsp Irish Moss - (omitted from calculations)

  • White Labs WLP005 British Ale

    White Labs WLP005 British Ale

    This yeast is a little more attenuative than WLP002. Like most English strains, this yeast produces malty beers. Excellent for all English style ales including bitter, pale ale, porter, and brown ale.

Notes

Three step mash, 129 for 30 minutes; protien rest, 149-154 for 60 minutes or until iodine test show converted starches are now sugar, 170 mash out fo 20 minutes, sparge normally. As always 1tsp Irish Moss the last 15 min.
