Ingredients (All Grain19 L)

  • 2.8 kg Maris Otter Pale

    Maris Otter Pale

An English thoroughbred and a favored choice of malt for many brewers. Simpsons' Maris Otter has a rich and nutty flavor and despite its small, berry size has a strong husk. This malt delivers predictable brewhouse performance with modest, yet consistent extracts. Brewers can expect good runoffs with clear wort.

    White Table Sugar (Sucrose)

  • White Labs WLP001 California Ale

    White Labs WLP001 California Ale

This yeast is famous for its clean flavors, balance and ability to be used in almost any style ale. It accentuates the hop flavors and is extremely versatile.

Notes

Best-ever efficiency. The new mash tun with SS briad looks like a winner. (Also ran the grain through the mill twice.) I'm fermenting with US-56, which isn't included here.

Nice drop

Just sampling the first bottles of this one. Very nice indeed. I collected the wort in a plastic cube. My last hops were put into a stocking and dropped into the hot wort. This has worked well, with heaps of aroma in the beer. (Less intense than dry-hopping, but without some of the harsh flavours I've had with that method.)
