Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • 1/2 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 1/8 lbs American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

  • 3 lbs Dry Extra Light Extract

    Dry Extra Light Extract

    For making very pale ales and lagers.

  • 2 lbs Liquid Light Extract

    Liquid Light Extract

    A brewer can create any beer style with this extract when used as a base in conjunction with colored malts and selected hops. Contains no colored malts or hops.

  • 1 1/2 lbs Corn Sugar

    Corn Sugar

    Use in priming beer or in extract recipes where flaked maize would be used in a mash.

  • 1 oz Saaz - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    Saaz

    Used for finishing pilseners, continental lagers, and wheats. The aroma is spicy and pleasant with fragrant overtones.

  • 1 oz Perle - 8.2 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Used mainly for its minty bittering and good green hop aromas in all non-pilsener lagersand wheats. Aroma is pleasant and slightly spicy

  • 1/2 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1 tbsp Irish Moss - (omitted from calculations)

    Irish Moss

  • Wyeast 3766 Cider

    Wyeast 3766 Cider

    Crisp dry fermenting yeast with big, fruity finish. Creates a nice balance for all types of apples, pears and other fruit or fermentables. Allows fruit character to dominate the profile.
