Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 10 lbs Maris Otter Pale

    Maris Otter Pale

    An English thoroughbred and a favored choice of malt for many brewers. Simpsons' Maris Otter has a rich and nutty flavor and despite its small, berry size has a strong husk. This malt delivers predictable brewhouse performance with modest, yet consistent extracts. Brewers can expect good runoffs with clear wort.

  • 1/2 lbs American Victory

    American Victory

    Provides a deep golden to brown color. Use in nut brown ales, IPAs and Scottish ales.

  • 1/4 lbs Belgian Aromatic

    Belgian Aromatic

    Imparts a big malt aroma. Use in brown ales, Belgian dubbels and tripels.

  • 1/4 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 1/8 lbs Torrified Wheat

    Torrified Wheat

    Helps head retention and mouthfeel, used in some pale ales.

  • 1 oz Target - 10.0 AA% pellets; boiled 50 min

    Used for its robust bittering ability in British ales and lagers. Aroma is quite intense.

  • 3/4 oz Fuggle - 4.8 AA% whole; boiled 20 min

    Mild. Mainly used for finishing and dry hopping especially pale ales, porters, and stouts. Aroma is mild and pleasant, spicy, and soft.

-Big starter. -Protein rest @122 for 60 min. to reduce haze. -Mash @153 for 90 min. -Using an equal mix of fuggles/ekg for flavor and aroma.....will probably lightly dry hop with same mix.
