I brewed this one last weekend. The original recipe came from the book Beer Captured however stouts need that acid malt to give it a hint of sour taste. I also added the malto dextrin to give it more body.

how did it turn out?

I am thinking of brewing this recipe, assuming I can get the hops. I am curious how it was?

Leave out the Black Patent

I have brewed the Northern Brewer Dry Irish Stout since this beer and really enjoyed it more. The recipe is posted on their site. The only real big difference it black patent. Save the Lyles for pancakes and maybe add a pound of flaked barley.
