Ingredients (All Grain5.5 gal)

  • 12 lbs American 6-row Pale

    American 6-row Pale

    Tends to increase lautering efficiency due to a stiffer husk. May be used as the base malt for any beer style. The enzymes in all varieties of the current crop are sufficient to support high percentages of specialty malts and adjuncts.

  • 1/2 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils

    Belgian Cara-Pils

    Significantly increases foam/head retention and body of the beer.

  • 3 lbs Corn Flaked (Maize)

    Corn Flaked (Maize)

    Generally a neutral flavor, used to reduce maltiness of beer. Produces beer with a milder, less malty flavor. Uses: Primarily for light Bohemian and Pilsner lagers.

  • 1 oz Mt. Hood - 4.4 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Mt. Hood

    Used mainly for aroma and flavor in American and German style ales and lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant, light, and clean.

  • 1 oz Liberty - 3.7 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    Liberty

    Used mainly for finishing German and American style ales and lagers. Aroma is mild and pleasant.

  • 1 oz Crystal - 4.6 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

    Mild. 'Noble'. Used mainly for its aroma which is mild and pleasant.

  • 1 tsp Phosphoric Acid - (omitted from calculations)

  • White Labs WLP802 Czech Budejovice Lager

    White Labs WLP802 Czech Budejovice Lager

    Pilsner lager yeast from Southern Czech Republic. Produces dry and crisp lagers, with low diacetyl production.

Notes

The mash process is a step mash, with rests at 122° F (30 min), 150° F (60 min), and 168° F (5 min). ================================= 1 oz Saaz 3.9AA - FWH Primary Fermentation: 50 F. for 14 days. Secondary Fermentation: 40 F. for 28 days. Bottle Condition: 65 F. for 28 days.
