Brewed Today

I conduct a double mash the first at 90min 153 degrees 4.5 gal and the second at 160 degrees for 45 minutes 3 gal draining the tun between mashes. I recirculate approx 1 gallon each time to create the filter. Built the tun IAW Brew Mag. I have always had good conversion. This batch was 1.057. Use WF tablet last 10 minutes of boil.

Bottling Day 5 Mar 05

2005-03-06 11:26am

My FG was 7 for two consecutive days so I bottled the batch. The only problem I experienced was some of the dry hop pellets pieces made their way from the carboy to the bottling bucket and into the bottle. Not much mind you but there was some. I am hoping that they will drop to the bottom of the bottles after the conditioning for 3 weeks. Primed with 3/4 cup corn sugar. As always, I tasted the brew from the hydrometer tube... excellent!!!

Chilled and sampled a bottle today. The hops are still a little over powering but have started blending to a good finish. The carbination was right on with a nice thin head. Next time I brew this I will have to remember to back off on the bittering hops a bit.
