Made before Christmas and it was great. Not too big or sweet. Had excellent balance. Everyone loved it.

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 7 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 2 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L

    Crystal Malt 20°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • .50 lbs Light Brown Sugar

    Light Brown Sugar

    Imparts rich, sweet flavor. Use in Scottish ales, old ales and holiday beers.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

5lbs Pie Pumkins quartered, dusted with brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice and baked for 1 hour at 375F and added to last 20 minutes of boil.

Outstanding Holiday brew

Brewed up 10 gal. three weeks ago. Used All Spice instead of the Pumkin pie spice, and it turned out great. Kegged on Sat 11/11, and have almost emptied one of two 5 gal keg's. Very smooth brew.

this was my first batch i have ever brewed. stuck to the basics of the recipe, but the nice lady at great fermentations helped me find a way to feel out the brewing process before i try all grain looking forward to tasting this ale brewed 9/24/07

I really liked brewing this. It came out amazing. Everyone loves it. Will do a 10 gallon batch next time.
