Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 7 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 1 lbs Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • 0.33 lbs American Chocolate Malt

    American Chocolate Malt

    Use in all types to adjust color and add nutty, toasted flavor. Chocolate flavor.

  • 0.06 lbs Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • 2 lbs American Caramel 80°L

    American Caramel 80°L

    Mild caramel,nutty flavor, sweet. adds color(Red Ale)

  • 0.5 lbs Molasses

    Molasses

    Imparts strong sweet flavor. Use in stouts and porters.

  • 0.5 oz Nugget - 10.0 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    This is very bitter and often used in medium to dark ales and lagers. Aroma is quite heavy and herbal.

Notes

*Mash @ 155F until complete *Sparge to 6.5 gal. *Add Molasses (Fancy)-(1 cup) right after boil *cool to 80F, aerate, pitch 1/2 gal starter of Coopers dry yeast *Ferment at 68F

Tastes GREAT! Actual FG was 1.009. Looks a bit cloudy; forgot the irish moss (D'oh!). I'd definitely make this one again. Woo Hoo!
