American IPA • All Grain • 19 L

ecze

German malts meet american hops. Big malt body with toasty hints and plenty of grapefruit. the German cara-malts give it fantastic lacing and head retention.

Notes

mashed 67.5ºC for 45'. came out a bit darker than they have it here - sort of amber-red. primary 1 week @ 20ºC, secondary in glass 3 weeks with 2 weeks of that dryhopping. 2/6/04 - well i think next time i won't go with 100% cascade, it's a bit overbearingly acidic, and the bitterness is kind of rough - or maybe that's the MgS04? malt flavour is good though (if a bit sweet).01/05: after a few months this one settled down to be a beautiful beer. only thing is i won't do cascade for bittering again. but the malt profile was perfect, reminded me of DFH 60 minute.
