Notes

First Batch! The wort never really came to a complete boil after the hops and malt was added, it was very hot and simmered rather than a boil. I don't know if this is the desired effect, but, thats what happened. Either way, this is a recipe from a local guy who sold me an extra fermenter bucket UPS delayed the delivery of my other equipment this afternoon. The batch is actually a half-batch of what is here but the calculator wouldn't let me say I only boiled a half-gallon. Now it's in the closet in the bucket bubbling away! How exciting. Tomorrow I will do an IPA, full batch instead, with 5.5 gallons. I just need some carboy containers and some more bottles and I'll be entirely happy with my setup aside of a bottle washer, I suppose, and a bigger sink. 11/21/2000
