I was shooting for a Christmas Ale everybody would like - not too heavy, not too dark, not to spicy. Brewed this in early November - Many positive comments!!

Ingredients (All Grain5 gal)

  • 8 lbs Belgian Pils

    Belgian Pils

    Pilsner style malted barley grain.

  • 2 lbs Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • 1 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • 1 lbs Belgian Aromatic

    Belgian Aromatic

    Imparts a big malt aroma. Use in brown ales, Belgian dubbels and tripels.

  • 1 oz East Kent Goldings - 4.7 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    East Kent Goldings

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • .5 oz East Kent Goldings - 4.7 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

    East Kent Goldings

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 1 tsp Ginger; 1.5 Cardamon; 1 Cinamon - (omitted from calculations)

  • 1.5 oz Sweet Orange Peel - (omitted from calculations)

  • White Labs WLP530 Abbey Ale

    White Labs WLP530 Abbey Ale
