
Awesome Altbier

I'd like to try this one with a true Alt yeast, but this time around I only had White Labs California kickin around. Make Beer, Not WAR!!

Ingredients (All Grain, 5 gal)

Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

For a desired malty, nutty flavor. Lagers, Oktoberfests and bock beer.

Mild caramel,nutty flavor, sweet. adds color

Candi Sugar Amber
Candi Sugar Amber
Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

The White Labs California Ale yeast worked suprisingly well for this style, lending it a clean, crisp finish.
