My girlfriend's father made something like this in the early 1990s, but his was all-grain. I'm going to make him a cloned version for Christmas.

Ingredients (Partial Mash5 gal)

  • 1 lbs Dextrine Malt

    Dextrine Malt

    In light-colored beers to give additional body. Adds richness without color.

  • 3 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

    Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

  • 3 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1 lbs Corn Sugar

    Corn Sugar

    Use in priming beer or in extract recipes where flaked maize would be used in a mash.

  • 2 oz Cascade - 4.9 AA% pellets; boiled 40 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.6 AA% pellets; boiled 2 min

    East Kent Goldings

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 1 oz East Kent Goldings - 5.6 AA% pellets; added dry to secondary fermenter
