Vienna Lager • All Grain • 22 L

Will be making this beer in a few weeks as this style has become a favorite of mine. See brewing notes for single decoction.

  • 4.5 kg German 2-row Pils

  • 0.18 kg Weyermann CaraHell®; Weyermann

    Weyermann CaraHell®; Weyermann

    Hefe-Weizen, Pale Ale, Golden Ale, Oktoberfest Beer, Nourishing Beer, Maibock , Schankbier, Light Beer, alcohol-reduced Beer , non-alcoholic Beer

  • 0.18 kg Weyermann CaraMunich® II; Weyermann

    Weyermann CaraMunich® II; Weyermann

    Provides body. For Oktoberfest, bock, porter, stout, red, amber and brown ales.

  • 0.1 kg Crystal Malt 120°L

    Crystal Malt 120°L

    Pronounced caramel flavor and a red color. For stouts, porters and black beers.

  • 33 g Tettnanger - 4.7 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Tettnanger

    Mild, slightly spicy. 'Noble'.

  • 10 g East Kent Goldings - 6.1 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    East Kent Goldings

    Mild, slightly flowery.

  • 15 g Saaz - 4.0 AA% pellets; boiled 1 min

    Saaz

    Used for finishing pilseners, continental lagers, and wheats. The aroma is spicy and pleasant with fragrant overtones.

    White Labs WLP830 German Lager

    This yeast is one of the most widely used lager yeasts in the world. Very malty and clean, great for all German lagers, pilsner, oktoberfest, and marzen.

Notes

Single Decoction mash at 64C for 60min remove 40% of mash bring to boil for 10 min return and mash-out for 20min sparge 77C 45min Ferment at 12C for 2 weeks, rest at 20C for 4 days and rack to secondry and lager for 3-4 weeks at 2C, bottle of keg and enjoy
