My first attempt. Great results,would recommend adding 1 grain of dry ale yeast to each bottle to ensure even carbonation.

  • .75 lbs Crystal Malt 80°L

    Crystal Malt 80°L

    Body and Richness. Distictive Nutty flavor and or sweet, smooth caramel flavor and a red to deep red color. For porters, old ales.

  • .25 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 4 lbs Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Pale Liquid; Alexanders

    Reportedly lightest colored malt extract available.

  • 3.5 lbs Dry Extra Light Extract

    Dry Extra Light Extract

    For making very pale ales and lagers.

  • .75 oz Nugget - 13.0 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

    Nugget

    This is very bitter and often used in medium to dark ales and lagers. Aroma is quite heavy and herbal.

  • .50 oz Hallertau - 4.5 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Hallertau

    Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.

  • .25 oz Cluster - 7.0 AA% whole; boiled 15 min

    Cluster

    Used for bittering and flavor qualities in light and dark American lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • .5 oz Hallertau - 4.5 AA% whole; boiled 1 min

    Hallertau

    Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.

  • 1 tsp Irish Moss - (omitted from calculations)
