Ingredients (Extract5 gal)

  • .5 lbs Crystal Malt 60°L

    Crystal Malt 60°L

    Sweet caramel flavor, deep golden to red color. For dark amber and brown ales.

  • .5 lbs Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • .5 lbs American Black Patent

    American Black Patent

    Provides color and sharp flavor in stouts and porters.

  • 8 lbs Dry Dark; Muntons

    Dry Dark; Muntons

    Used predominantly in the production of dark beers such as milds, browns, porters, and stouts.

  • 1.5 oz Chinook - 11.4 AA% pellets; boiled 45 min

    Chinook

    Spicy, Medium to Heavy.Very strong bittering ability used in all American ales and lagers. Aroma is very floral.

  • .5 oz Cascade - 5.6 AA% pellets; boiled 10 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • Wyeast 1028 London Ale™

    Wyeast 1028 London Ale™

    Rich with a dry finish, minerally profile, bold and crisp, with some fruitiness.

Notes

Add crushed roasted barley, crystal malt and black patent malt -- bring water to boil and remove after 5 minutes. An airlock may clog -- blow off tube may be necessary. Enjoy first taste about 8 weeks after bottling.
