Part Time Brewer

I brewed this August 1, 2003. I used Hallertau instead of Tettnanger. Mashed at 156-158 in 3 gallons and sparged with 5 gallons. Used Whirtlock tablet. This is going to have more color than a typical American Wheat due to 20L crystal

  • 4.0 lbs American 2-row

  • 5.0 lbs Pacific Northwest Wheat

  • 1.0 lbs Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • .75 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L

    Crystal Malt 20°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 1.0 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 1.0 oz Hallertau - 4.5 AA% pellets; boiled 15 min

    Good for all around bittering and finishing stock ales, Belgian ales, and continental style lagers. Aroma is mild, pleasant and flowery.
