Ingredients (Extract3.5 gal)

  • 0.25 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 0.25 lbs Roasted Barley

    Roasted Barley

    Sweet, grainy, coffee flavor and a red to deep brown color. For porters and stouts.

  • 4 lbs Dry Amber Extract

    Dry Amber Extract

    Cream-colored and full-flavored; will produce amber colored beers such as pale ales, IPAs, and bitters. Made of pale and crystal malts.

  • 2 lbs Dry Light Extract

    Dry Light Extract

    White color, mild flavor. Will produce lagers and Pilseners and can also be used to produce darker beers when used in conjunction with colored malts. Made of pale malt.

  • 1.25 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% whole; boiled 50 min

    Cascade

    Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • 0.5 oz Northern Brewer - 8.0 AA% whole; boiled 20 min

    Northern Brewer

    Used for bittering with strong flavors and very fragrant in steam beers, dark English ales, and German lagers. Aroma is medium-strong with evergreen and mint overtones.

  • Wyeast 2565 Kolsch

    Wyeast 2565 Kolsch

    A hybrid of ale and lager characteristics. This strain develops excellent maltiness with subdued fruitiness, and a crisp finish. Ferments well at moderate temperatures.

Notes

Note American 2 row really should be peated malt. Prime with 0.3 cup honey and 0.3 cup molasses Age in bottle 1-3 months
