Belgian Dark Strong Ale • All Grain • 10 gal

I have brewed this as a partial mash with extract. It is wonderful! April Fuels is that feeling of drinking a great beer, but you can't tell it's almost 9%. Sure fool's everyone!

Ingredients (All Grain10 gal)

  • 28 lbs English 2-row Munich

    Used for extra flavour and colour in nitro-keg ales.

  • 0.75 lbs Belgian Wheat Malt

    Malted wheat for use in Wheat beers.

  • 1.0 lbs Crystal Malt 40°L

    Crystal Malt 40°L

    Sweet, mild caramel flavor and a golden color. Use in light lagers and light ales.

  • 1.0 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils

    Belgian Cara-Pils

    Significantly increases foam/head retention and body of the beer.

  • 1.0 lbs Belgian Special B

  • 2.0 lbs Munich Malt

    Munich Malt

    Sweet, toasted flavor and aroma. For Oktoberfests and malty styles

  • 1.0 lbs Candi Sugar Clear

    Candi Sugar Clear

    Smooth taste, good head retention, sweet aroma and high gravity without being apparent. Use in Belgian and holiday ales. Use clear for tripels, amber for dubbels, and dark is used in brown beer and strong golden ales.

  • 1.5 oz Styrian Goldings - 6.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min

  • 2.0 oz Czech Saaz - 5.0 AA% pellets; boiled 30 min

  • White Labs WLP530 Abbey Ale

    White Labs WLP530 Abbey Ale

    Used in two of the six Trappist breweries remaining in the world, this yeast produces the distinctive fruitiness and plum characteristics. Excellent yeast for high gravity beers, Belgian ales, dubbels and trippels.
