Brewed Last Night...
2003-04-02 6:49am
Made a starter culture (1/2 cup DME, 1 pint water, 1/2 tsp. yeast nutrient) the night before, and brewed last night. Finally used my new 5 gal. brewpot, boiling 4 gal. water with all ingredients, and topping it off at 10mins before boils end. I was a little sloppy getting the temperature down low enough, but I have the carboy in a tub of water and stabalized at 68F now I think, and fermentation started sometime in the night. I'll add 4 oz. of raspberry extract (heated in 1 pint of water to 140F for 30 mins) in the secondary. O.G. was right on target at 1.042.
American Wheat Yeast worked well

I'm glad I used an American yeast.. it was mild enough and in balance, but still interesting to drink.
