Weizenbock • Partial Mash • 5 gal

knonsuch

this is out of the bounds for alchol levels but i figure I will bring the OG down when I transfer to the fermentor and top of with water. I don't have the best luck with masd effec. and I need larger capacity with my brew kettle. The yeast pitched will be from my last batch of hefe.

Ingredients (Partial Mash5 gal)

  • 2 lbs American 2-row

    American 2-row

Yields a slightly higher extract than Six Rox brewers Malt. Tends to give a smoother, less grainy flavored beer. Some brewers claim they can detect a significant difference in flavor. Lower protein and will yield a lower color than Six-Row Brewers Malt

    Midwest Wheat Malt

Light flavor and creamy head. For American weizenbier, weissbier and dunkelweiss.

  • 1.5 lbs American Caramel 40°L

    American Caramel 40°L

  • 3 lbs Dry Extra Light; Muntons

    Dry Extra Light; Muntons

Contains no colored malts or unmalted products; the light color of this product is achieved by using low processing temperatures and low-colored raw materials.

  • .5 oz Magnum - 14.5 AA% whole; boiled 60 min

Bred in 1980 at Germany’s Hüll Hop Research Center, this high-alpha variety is renowned for its exceptionally large, heavy cones. Hallertauer Magnum delivers excellent yields and, like many Hüll-developed hops, boasts a strong resistance to disease.

  • 1 oz Cascade - 5.5 AA% whole; boiled 5 min

    Cascade

Spicy with citrus notes. Slightly grapefruity.

  • White Labs WLP380 Hefeweizen IV Ale
